How we handle your information — clearly and honestly.

Short version: Find My Journey does not store your assessment answers beyond your current session. We do not sell your data. We do not share your personal information with third parties except as described below.

1. Who we are

Find My Journey is an AI-powered career discovery tool for young Australians aged 15–25. We are operated by Find My Journey (ABN placeholder). Our contact email is hello@findmyjourney.com.au.

2. What information we collect

Assessment answers

When you use the Find My Journey assessment, you answer questions about your interests, values, personality and work preferences. These answers are used solely to generate your personalised career results. They are processed in real time and are not stored on our servers after your session ends.

Email address (optional)

If you choose to receive your results by email, we collect your email address. We use this only to send you your results. We store a record that an email was sent (email address, date, job titles) in a secure database to help us understand usage. We do not use this to send marketing emails.

Usage data

We collect anonymous usage data including pages visited, features used, and general session information. This data cannot be linked to an individual and is used solely to improve Find My Journey.

Feedback

If you use the thumbs up/down feedback buttons, we record an anonymised positive or negative signal alongside the career branch selected. No personal information is collected with this feedback.

Saved results (optional)

If you choose to save your results, we store the following information securely for 12 months:

We do not store your raw assessment answers as part of saved results. After 12 months, saved results are permanently and automatically deleted.

If you are under 15, we recommend letting a parent or guardian know that your results are being saved.

3. How we use your information

We do not use your information for advertising, profiling or any commercial purpose beyond operating Find My Journey.

3a. Saved results — consent and storage

Saving your results is entirely optional. When you choose to save, we will clearly notify you that your results are being stored, what is stored, and for how long. You will receive a personal link to retrieve your results at any time within the 12-month storage period.

If you entered an institution or program code during your assessment, your saved results will be accessible to the authorised pathways advisors at that institution. Only results from Explorers who actively provided an institution code are visible to that institution — institutions cannot access results from Explorers who did not opt in to their program.

You may request early deletion of your saved results at any time by contacting us at hello@findmyjourney.com.au with your personal link or result code.

4. Who we share your information with

Anthropic

Your assessment answers are sent to Anthropic’s Claude API to generate your results. Anthropic processes this data as a service provider under their privacy policy. Your answers are not used to train Anthropic’s AI models.

Resend

If you request email delivery of your results, your email address and results summary are sent to Resend (a transactional email provider) to deliver the email. Resend does not retain this data beyond delivery.

Upstash

A record of email sends (email address, date, job titles) is stored in an Upstash Redis database hosted in Sydney, Australia. If you choose to save your results, those results are also stored in Upstash Redis and automatically deleted after 12 months.

We do not sell, rent or share your personal information with any other third parties.

5. Under 15s

Find My Journey is designed for young Australians aged 15–25. We encourage anyone under 15 to let a parent or guardian know they are using this tool. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

6. Your rights

Under Australian privacy law (Privacy Act 1988) you have the right to access, correct or request deletion of any personal information we hold about you. To exercise these rights, contact us at hello@findmyjourney.com.au.

7. Security

We use industry-standard security practices including HTTPS encryption for all data in transit. Assessment answers are never written to persistent storage. Email addresses are stored in a secured, access-controlled database.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be noted with an updated date at the top of this page.
